Enterprise Architect

TradeWind Services a Certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, located in Richland, WA is seeking to procure an Enterprise Architect to support client activities on the Hanford Site.

This position is full time (4/10s schedule), with work location in Richland WA. (subject to change)


  • Definition, implementation, and execution of the processes for the creation, maintenance, and conformance management of the Enterprise Architecture
  • Development and maintenance of Enterprise Architecture deliverables
  • Building relationships within business units and information system programs to understand Mission requirements, business activities and drivers, solutions strategies and alternatives, etc.
  • Architectural leadership in the resolution of inter-program and inter-project issues
  • Ongoing publicity, communication, and training of the Enterprise Architecture both within the information community, and the business units
  • Ongoing research and assessment of new analysis approaches for potential use within the Enterprise
  • Act as a consultant to business process analysis and design activities
  • Auditing compliance with the Enterprise Architecture standards, and assessing and correcting any deficiencies
  • Understand technology product and vendor strategies and use to inform Enterprise Architecture roadmap
  • Optimize the application landscape through continuous review of current capabilities and overlapping products
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to all levels of business and technology organizations on business and information integration strategies
  • Act as subject matter expert and provide an assurance role, ensuring that all architecture activities and deliverables are produced to a high quality and are consistent with existing standards, policies and strategies
  • Review project and system documentation for standards compliance


  • 10+ years of technology, analysis and design experience
  • 4+ years in an Enterprise Architect role specifically
  • Strong familiarity with at least one common Enterprise Architecture framework (e.g. TOGAF, ISO 19439, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF), etc.)
  • Broad background in different technologies and business sectors
  • Robust knowledge of security architectures and their impact on Enterprise Architecture
  • Deep understanding of Agile development principles and their applicability within the Enterprise Architecture discipline
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud architectures and management approach
  • Knowledge of IT compliance processes and standards
  • Experience with robust Disaster Recovery approaches and designs
  • Proven ability to develop and enforce standards and best practices
  • Exceptional strategic planning and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Strong self-awareness and interpersonal skills including ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Significant attention to detail
  • Open to feedback and highly adaptive in the face of rapidly changing technical and organizational landscapes
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff

Demonstrated proficiency in:

  • Architecture Modeling & Design
  • Design documentation
  • Information modeling
  • Design patterns and architecture styles
  • System qualities and tradeoffs – solution evaluation experience, i.e. such as KepnerTregoe decision-making methodology
  • Software security methods and models
  • Application frameworks
  • Understanding of both business and systems processes and an ability to understand and explain issues from both a technical and a business functional point of view
  • Understanding of business functionality, interfaces, data flow, and functional architecture of systems supported
  • Demonstration of strong oral & written communications, teaching, facilitation & negotiation, leadership & influencing skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a highly collaborative team


  • Relevant Enterprise Architecture certification is desirable
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Azure/cloud architect certifications are desirable
  • Delivering initiatives successfully inside heavily regulated environments (e.g. Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Sarbannes-Oxley, NIST)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or 8 years of equivalent experience
  • Software development experience (programming models, runtime execution environments, software design patterns, software engineering, software documentation)
  • 3 years of experience in a DevOps environment with a focus on automation


Duration is from date of award through 9/30/2019 with four option years.
