Operations Specialist to HAMMER Operations

TradeWind Services a Certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, located in Richland, WA is seeking to procure an Operations Specialist to support client activities on the Hanford Site.

This position is full time (4/10s schedule), with work location at the HAMMER Facility. (subject to change)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The individual shall support the HAMMER Operations manager and staff in evaluating organizational procedures, operational processes, and facility planning.  The individual will be required to interface with workers, subject matter experts, and management to accomplish assigned tasks.  A key role provided by the candidate is providing technical writing support, and facility and event planning and coordination.  This position is expected to perform specific tasks including but not limited to:

  • Perform technical writing for procedure revisions
  • Review existing processes to make improvement recommendations
  • Assist in implementation of new processes and procedures
  • Develop metrics to evaluate operational performance
  • Collaborate with other HAMMER groups to plan and coordinate facility use
  • Perform analysis of processes to identify areas of improvement
  • Facilitate and participate in safety and organizational activities
  • Provide support for equipment and materials inventories
  • Other facility support requested by HAMMER management
  • Status meetings will be required for assigned tasks on a weekly basis

It is important that the applicant has the ability to conceptualize, develop and coordinate events and activities as well as have excellent collaboration skills.  The applicant will be required to transform complex, technical topics and materials into understandable, effective procedures and reports that are understood by staff with varied skills and experience.  The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting project quality expectations and schedule commitments is a must, as are exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated technical writing competency to communicate technical topics and terms effectively to the end-user, i.e., procedures, grants, technical papers, etc.
  • Ability to transform complex, technical topics and materials into understandable, effective procedures and reports that are understood by staff with varied skills and experience
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in coordinating events meeting quality standards and deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Strong proofing and editing skills
  • Five years or more of occupational experience in training and/or education or an advanced degree (master’s degree or higher

DURATION  

Duration is from date of award through 9/30/2019 with one option year to extend.
