Project Controls Specialist

TradeWind Services a Certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, located in Richland, WA is seeking to procure a Project Controls Specialist to support client activities on the Hanford Site.

This position is full time (4/10s schedule), with work location in Richland, WA. (subject to change)

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Monitoring and reporting actual cost/resource performance against planned budgets
  • Assisting the project management team in developing, monitoring, and updating budgets, schedules and forecasts for assigned projects
  • Development of scope/deliverables and activities with Project Managers for each task assignment; developing logic, durations and constraints with Project Manager for each task assignment
  • Monitoring and reporting critical path and schedule performance
  • Updating actual progress and forecasting remaining work schedule
  • Maintaining and updating scope within work breakdown structure
  • Assisting in the development of options for corrective action, to include performing analysis of various alternatives and presenting recommendations to contract and project management
  • Preparing written, tabular, and graphic reports that communicate contract / project cost and progress status
  • Working in concert with project managers, accounting personnel and estimators to ensure cost and schedule integration
  • Preparing or supervising the preparation of various Earned Value Management (EVM) reports
  • Providing cost coding and funds coding information on purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record of meeting deadlines assigned
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 required
  • Good understanding of construction practices
  • Knowledge of environmental cleanup and remediation highly desired
  • Responsible for developing the reporting systems for project cost estimates, and integrating estimates with project lifecycle cost and scheduling
  • Performs complex aspects of individual project estimating, scheduling, change documentation and cost control while reporting up to program or portfolio level
  • Expected to lead / direct the set up and reviews of the project status (estimating, cost, contract, WBS, schedule, resource, etc.)
  • Responsible for gathering, verifying, validating and analyzing data in support of project controls reporting
  • Responsible for distributing and archiving project controls reports as appropriate

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 4-year degree from an accredited institution; degree in business, construction management, or engineering preferred, or equivalent education, training, and experience (Client will accept 8 years of directly related experience in lieu of a BA/BS degree; 2 years of directly experience is equivalent to 1 year of college)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project controls, including cost/schedule tracking, planning/scheduling, cost estimating, and baseline review
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6
  • Experience with project control duties to include scope, schedule and budget development, maintenance and monitoring activities that measure performance against the plan
  • Familiar with Hanford project controls processes and systems

DURATION  

Duration is from date of award through 9/30/2019 with potential to extend.

PER DIEM

Travel and living expenses are not authorized for this position.
