The Project Manager is responsible for overall project personnel and equipment resources and also performs tasks and work scope as defined below:

  • Ensures that the project team clearly understands their roles and responsibilities
  • Assembles and mentors the project team
  • Balances and prioritizes labor, material and equipment resources
  • Manages the safety, communications, scope, schedule, cost and quality activities related to the assigned project
  • Is the primary point of contact for any required coordination and interface that may have an impact on assigned project
  • Participates in the development of project(s) scope of work, schedules, and engineering cost estimates
  • Reviews and approves project estimates, schedules and baseline changes
  • Analyzes and understands project cost and schedule variance with support from project controls, applicable control account manager and takes effective corrective actions to meet cost and schedule commitments and milestones
  • Ensure implementation of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Reviews Engineering design documents, when applicable, regarding constructability
  • Manages scope change and scope creep, ensuring that all scope changes and trends are quickly and properly identified, documented and communicated to Senior Management
  • Ensure change orders are approved prior to commencement of work
  • Ensures resolution of project specific problem reports and identified issues
  • Supports the quality team in technical assessment of quality issues and resolution of non-conforming items and non-conformance reports
  • Provides project status updates to Senior Management, as required
  • Manages Subcontractors
  • Reviews bidder proposals, submittals, work documents, etc. to provide comments as necessary
  • Ensures compliance with subcontract terms and conditions and rapid resolution of contractor change requests


  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years DOE or 10 Years relevant DOE experience which includes 4 years of applicable leadership experience
